It is common knowledge that the financial statements and the tax return will not be mirror images of each other. One way in which SARS can identify and address discrepancies and differences is the IT14SD. Having to complete this reconciliation is not necessarily an indicator that the taxpayer is in the wrong, however it is important to both the taxpayer and SARS to ensure that taxes have been filed accurately. This course aims to assist taxpayers to navigate and complete the IT14SD reconciliation.

This session will cover the following: • What is the IT14SD and when or why will a taxpayer be required to complete it? • What are the consequences of failing to submit an IT14SD? • What documents would the taxpayer need to be able to complete the reconciliation? • Are the specific supporting documents to submit along with the reconciliation? • How to complete the IT14SD reconciliation for each of the taxes (Income tax, VAT and PAYE) • Practical issues with completing the reconciliation

All taxpayers, tax and accounting professionals that may be charged with the responsibility of completing the IT14SD reconciliation.
