It is said that the only difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion is the width of the prison’s wall – but where exactly does SARS draw the line? For most taxpayers, it is easy enough to distinguish between what “feels” right or not, however tax legislation is based on principles far removed from emotions. For this reason, ProBeta offers a session aimed at exploring the specific tax avoidance measures that SARS has set in place, to distinguish between the concept of proper tax planning and tax evasion.
