I am a multi-passionate Chartered Accountant, mother to my boy, Righardt (13) and wife to Ernst who also happens to be a Chartered Accountant. Our family is not just all about numbers and solving complicated accounting and auditing challenges; we are passionate about family and life! Our most favourite place is Mossel Bay where we will spend hours chit-chatting on the beach, whilst searching for interesting sea creatures in shallow rock pools. We love outdoor adventures too! My true purpose and chief aim in life did not come easy to me. I had to constantly seek what I was meant to do in life through life's experiences. Though I was capable of achieving academic successes, there was a sadness within, which I could not really comprehend. I reached a turning point after a couple of 'never-again-moments' in my corporate career and also after becoming a mom to a premature baby at 30 weeks of pregnancy. Today I look back to those moments, as they were necessary experiences required for me to break out, jump, listen and act on that burning desire: to serve others, to value others and to change my world. I embarked on a very interesting journey since I made the jump. Further business partnerships were established when I engaged with Tall Trees Profiles and ProBeta Training to introduce leadership and ethics training and developmental courses to the accounting, tax and auditing profession in South Africa. The EI Activator report on emotional intelligence was born, which I co-authored with trusted mentors and experts in the field of leadership development. I also discovered a love for coaching based on the principles of Positive Psychology. I've made the next jump of narrowing down my purpose and vision in life even further: incorporating coaching on principles of Positive Psychology as part of my personal and professional development. I now help clients write their own beautiful stories of hope, in finding their 'yes' and help changing their world, based on strong values and appreciation for life itself. As 'Love of Learning' is my top strength, I am currently enrolled at the NWU to further my studies in the field of psychology (Master of Arts in Positive Psychology). I'm truly excited about bringing forward and sharing more on this during my teachings and future engagements!
