An engaging learning platform is provided which will have delegates participating on an interactive level with each other and the facilitator. A safe learning environment is created whereby delegates will be introduced to useful interactivity tools such as tests, polls, breakouts and both audio and visual engagement activities. These tools will support the delivery of theory and understanding of the necessary principles of the course on a practical level. On registration, all relevant course material and information will be made available online. When a formal training contract is entered into, there are some training regulations that needs to be adhered to. Trainees need to be aware of their responsibilities in terms of these regulations, as well as their rights in terms of the agreement. The regulations also require employers to train trainees on the standards of professionalism and ethics. The purpose of this two-day course is to address the training requirements for the effective induction of trainee accountants. Day 1 will cover the structuring of the profession, including the various contract regulations, the ethical and professional skills trainees need, as well as detailed explanation of the competencies they need to obtain over the three years. Day 2 is optional (can be booked separately under our Tall Trees Training Products: Tall Trees Courses > Scheduled Courses > Basic Tall Trees Leadership Profile (TTLP) course) Day 2 will be presented in association with Tall Trees Profiles, facilitated by accredited Tall Trees Facilitators, whom will also include experienced Chartered Accountants. Some of the softer and more intangible aspects of corporate life will be addressed here. This promises to be an invaluable opportunity for first year trainees to gain knowledge about themselves and of others, how to position themselves as part of a team, how to deal with conflict, cultural diversity, knowledge about communication styles, time management, amongst others. First year trainees will also have the opportunity to engage with experienced Chartered Accountants on the course day.

The objectives of this course is to familiarise first year trainee accountants with their new working environment, as well as to equip them with the necessary skills and qualities that will make the trainee both highly trainable and highly productive! After this course delegates should understand that their development is their responsibility, and that they should take the necessary steps to ensure they create the full possible benefit out of their training contract. After this course delegates should also have a thorough understanding of the ethical requirements and the professional skills expected of them.

All newly appointed trainee accountants entering into a formal Training Program with SAIBA, ACCA, IACSA and any other professional accounting body offering a formal training programme to trainees, excluding SAICA. Trainees joining a SAIPA Training Programme should rather attend the SAIPA Junior Induction course. Special note: Recruiting trainees who will be completing grade 12 – we are running this Induction Programme during the December school holidays! See the above mentioned dates.
