Calling all SAICA training offices with their intake of new trainees. SAICA training contracts are both an exciting opportunity for new recruits who are seeking to gain CA / AGA accreditation, as well as, a MAJOR stress point if trainees are not well-informed as to their rights and responsibilities under the training contract / regulations. The SAICA Trainee Induction course consists of three sessions, and the objective is to journey with trainees through the new CA2025 Competency Framework and Assessment Process, as they look to establish themselves in a new professional work environment.

Session 1: Introduction to Profession and SAICA Training Regulations (2-3 Hours) The objective of this session is to introduce the accounting profession to trainees and navigate trainees through the latest SAICA Training Regulations and highlight the important sections applicable to them that could have an impact on their training contract journey. This session tackles what the duties of a trainee are in relation to their training contract. Furthermore, as part of introducing trainees to the profession, this session covers the regulatory bodies such as SAICA and IRBA, and what the differences are between the two, and what is needed to qualify as a CA / AGA (SA). Covered content: - The need to develop the correct professional attitude towards traineeship - The different roles of SAICA and the IRBA - Applicable SAICA Training Regulations - A trainee’s duties per Annexures - The SAICA Training Contract IFRS - IAS 21 Foreign Currency Session 2: Assessment Process and Tutorial on How to Complete Assessment Instruments [LOR and PDS] (4 Hours) Help trainees understand what the SAICA Assessment Process is all about, how to gather and document evidence, how they are reviewed / evaluated / assessed, and what their role is, in the process of assessment. Content covered: - Understanding the CA2025 training programme - Assessment definition and principles of assessment - Benefits and steps in the process - Assessment instruments and processes, and steps to complete - Individuals and paperwork involved in the process www.bookings.probetatraining.co.za 6 - Prescribed / possible Learning Outcomes (technical and PVAAs) - Explanations of the proficiency-ratings process for which trainees must self-assess using decision trees for LOR / PDS - Practical walkthrough of documentation of evidence process Professional Conduct and SAICA Disciplinary Process (2 Hours) This session aims to explain how to conduct yourself, as a new professional, in a corporate environment as well as looking at how SAICA has disciplined trainees who have not complied with the SAICA Code of Conduct and SAICA Training Regulations Content Covered - Business etiquette - Open office etiquette - Telephone etiquette - Communication skills - Interviewing the client - E-mail etiquette - Time management - Teamwork - SAICA Code of Professional Conduct - SAICA disciplinary process and recent disciplinary action take against trainees
