#CA2025(Relational Acumen: People Skills; Emotional Intelligence)

In this session we answer the question:

  • How well do I make a connection with you to collaborate with realistic mutual expectations and with appropriate use of authority?

Work-Along Format
This format is designed to bridge the gap between learning and application, ensuring that the concepts we discuss are immediately put into practice. During the session, I will serve as your dedicated guide, facilitator, and coach, walking you through each step of the process.

How the Work-Along Format Works

  • Real-Time Application: As we explore key concepts, you’ll have the opportunity to work on relevant tasks or exercises in real time. This hands-on approach will allow you to directly apply the material, gaining practical experience that reinforces your understanding.
  • Guided Support: Throughout the session, I’ll be there to support you, offering insights, answering questions, and providing feedback as you work. This ensures that you’re not only learning the material but also developing the skills needed to implement it confidently.
  • Collaborative Environment: You'll be working alongside fellow participants, fostering a sense of community and shared learning. This collaborative environment will encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices, enhancing your overall experience.

  • Collaboration is the process of working together - getting someone on board with you to achieve something. It is the process of cooperating with someone.
  • Collaboration happens everywhere - baking pancakes together at a market stall, or planning a holiday together as a family, or getting your teen to focus on homework, or working together towards an incentive at work.

It sounds easy enough, doesn't it?

But effective and successful collaboration is hard. For some leadership types, it is easier to just get things done alone than being dragged into the intricacies of communicating with and adapting to another in the process.

Other leadership types struggle to get things done without collaboration and tend to over-collaborate, spreading themselves thin, or losing focus.

Reflection: What hinders your collaboration with others?

Have you heard this before?

  • I have an open door policy
  • Everyone has a seat at the table
  • We welcome all ideas
  • I want everyone to feel that they can share their ideas at any time
