B Com Hons, Certificate in the Theory of Accounting, Associate General Accountant (SA), Professional Accountant (SA), General Tax Practitioner (SA), Certified Empowerment Technician, Pastel Certified Trainer Mariettes experience in facilitation, financial consultation and management spans over two decades. She started her career within the corporate services function of a medium-sized entity and managed roles such as finance, human resource management, IT and marketing. There after she changed to consultation and facilitation within the public and private sector. As a public sector consultant for more than the past 10 years, she implemented Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GRAP) in several public entities, trading entities as well as metro and local municipalities and their entities. Her consultation work furthermore included year end processes, financial statement preparation and audit assistance for these entities as well as for several provincial and national departments. During this time she facilitated various topics such as B-BBEE, GRAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (OFRS), Pastel, Companies Act and taxation to public sector and private sector clients. The most noteworthy of these are her presentation work for several of the countrys provincial treasuries. Her passion for lecturing led her to become the mentor for South African Institute of Professional Accountant (SAIPA) trainees to assist and guide each trainee to become a well-rounded and sought after Professional Accountant. She lectured in-house preparation courses for the SAIPA Professional Evaluation with highly successful outcomes. She is currently focusing on her passion for B-BBEE consultations and working with NGOs to improve compliance and understanding of financial requirements
