*** NEW Self-paced Online learning platform: MySkillsPortal developed for Trainees *** What is new? • Available 24/7 - enabling delegates to plan their training diary to suit their needs • Continuous online automated assessment to assess one’s own progress during the course • One integrated simulated post-course assessment • Self-paced learning. Revisit concepts, watch videos again and again • All competency skills modules have been revamped • Brand new examples, new exercises and Portfolios for assessment • Bite size modules to pace one’s own development • Lots of additional tools, resources and e-books available for download • Downloadable FREE Mobile App available to learn on-the-go • A portal specifically created for the Trainee in mind – helping to grow our young leaders for tomorrow! • Delegates have 6 weeks, from the start of the course to complete modules and upload PoE files Practical application of the concepts and principles of the VAT Act will be practiced by means of activity sheets contained in a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) file. The PoE file contains all the detail instructions and activity sheets to enable the delegate to understand exactly what is required. By submitting the PoE for assessment, the delegate will be assessed on the ability to apply these concepts and principles on a practical level. The following competencies will be assessed: For trainees as part of the SAICA CA Training Programme TX(R) 3.2 Identifies when indirect taxes, for example VAT or customs duty, are applicable and calculates or evaluates the indirect tax payable TX(R) 3.3 Prepares or evaluates indirect tax returns For trainees as part of the SAIPA Logbook Training Programme: TXC 1A Preparation of supporting documentation for the submission of VAT 201 TXC 1B Preparation of the application of taxpayers for the registration and de-registration of taxpayers for VAT purposes TXC 1C Preparation of the VAT reconciliation *** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For planning simulations throughout the year *** 1) When you book for a simulation, then you have 6 weeks from the date of access to the course, to complete the course and upload your PoE file onto MySkillsPortal. 2) After submission, the Assessor has 6 weeks to assess, moderate and complete the assessment report with feedback to yourself and your training officer. 3) For all simulations booked up to and including end September, we will provide feedback on those assessments latest mid December (it might vary depending on when you booked) - that is, if you apply the 6 week submission and 6 week assessment rule [all the rules have been clearly communicated within your course content] 4) For all simulations booked after end September, these assessments will only be made available up to and by February the next year. 5) We can unfortunately not take responsibility for simulations booked very late into the contractual period as the training plan and the way simulations, learning and development are planned, remains the ultimate responsibility of the Training Officer together with the trainee. It would be unfair to cast the later-than-planned (urgent) simulations as a responsibility onto ProBeta Training - especially during the November / December / January period when most training contracts need to be signed off. 6) Urgent PoE assessments: For those trainees who's contracts are due for sign-off between November and December, we do allow a LIMITED NUMBER of fast-track assessments. As communicated per your course instructions, this will however come at an additional fee of R300.00 excl VAT per assessment, to cover administration related time and attendance, urgent and unplanned availability and time and attendance of assessors. We will as far as humanly possible try and accommodate these requests. Please also note that when you submit your PoE file, a level 4 sign-off or 'competent' sign-off is NOT GUARANTEED. We follow the SAICA and SAIPA assessment criteria very strictly to ensure full compliance on our side and also on the Training Office's side. If you have any questions / concerns, please discuss with your Training Officer and contact me to discuss further: lberger@probetatraining.co.za *** All of the above has been clearly communicated on course enrolment *** SAICA CA Training Programme Delegates on the SAICA Competency Skills Training Programme can join this session. Based on SAICAs latest CA Training Programme, a level four (4) sign-off is required at a basic level for all Residual Skills. The following competency skills will be assessed: SAICA CA Training Programme TX(R) 3.2 Identifies when indirect taxes for example VAT or Customs duty are applicable and calculates or evaluates the indirect tax payable TX(R) 3.3 Prepares or evaluates indirect tax returns Logbook Training Programme TXC 1A Preparation of supporting documentation for the submission of VAT 201 TXC 1B Preparation and the application of taxpayers for the registration and d-registration of taxpayers for VAT purposes TXC 1C Preparation of the VAT reconciliation and submission
