*** NEW Self-paced Online learning platform: MySkillsPortal developed for Trainees *** What is new? • Available 24/7 - enabling delegates to plan their training diary to suit their needs • Continuous online automated assessment to assess one’s own progress during the course • One integrated simulated post-course assessment • Self-paced learning. Revisit concepts, watch videos again and again • All competency skills modules have been revamped • Brand new examples, new exercises and Portfolios for assessment • Bite size modules to pace one’s own development • Lots of additional tools, resources and e-books available for download • Downloadable FREE Mobile App available to learn on-the-go • A portal specifically created for the Trainee in mind – helping to grow our young leaders for tomorrow! • Delegates have 6 weeks, from the purchase date of the course to complete modules and upload PoE files This course is designed to teach delegates practical skills about the preparation and monitoring of budgets, using basic functions in Excel and probing questioning techniques. The required skills for this module will be practiced through simulated case studies and group discussions. Each competency will be evaluated through case studies as well as a post course evaluation. The following competencies will be assessed: For trainees as part of the SAICA CA Training Programme MD(R) 2.1 Prepares a budget for an entity / business unit / audit engagement, with clearly documented assumptions MD(R) 2.2 Performs a sensitivity analysis on prepared budgets, varying key assumptions to document a range of possible outcomes MD(R) 3.1 Documents actual performance against budget, and investigates and documents reasons for variances MD(R) 3.2 Makes recommendations to address variance For trainees as part of the SAIPA Logbook Training Programme: MAC 3A Application of cash management principles to manage the cash flows of the business *** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For planning simulations throughout the year *** 1) When you book for a simulation, then you have 6 weeks from the date of access (purchase date) to the course, to complete the course and upload your PoE file onto MySkillsPortal. 2) After the first 6 weeks passed, the Assessor has 6 further weeks to assess, moderate and complete the assessment report with feedback to yourself and your training officer. 3) For all simulations booked up to and including end September, we will provide feedback on those assessments latest mid December (it might vary depending on when you booked) - that is, if you apply the 6 week submission and 6 week assessment rule [all the rules have been clearly communicated within your course content] 4) For all simulations booked after end October, these assessments will only be made available up to and by February the next year. 5) We can unfortunately not take responsibility for simulations booked very late into the contractual period as the training plan and the way simulations, learning and development are planned, remains the ultimate responsibility of the Training Officer together with the trainee. It would be unfair to cast the later-than-planned (urgent) simulations as a responsibility onto ProBeta Training - especially during the November / December / January period when most training contracts need to be signed off. 6) Urgent PoE assessments: For those trainees who's contracts are due for sign-off between November and December, we do allow a limited number of fast-track assessments. As communicated per your course instructions, this will however come at an additional fee of R300.00 excl VAT per assessment, to cover administration related time and attendance, urgent and unplanned availability and time and attendance of assessors. We will as far as humanly possible try and accommodate these requests. Please also note that when you submit your PoE file, a level 4 sign-off or 'competent' sign-off is NOT GUARANTEED. We follow the SAICA and SAIPA assessment criteria very strictly to ensure full compliance on our side and also on the Training Office's side. If you have any questions / concerns, please discuss with your Training Officer and contact me to discuss further: lberger@probetatraining.co.za *** All of the above has been clearly communicated on course enrolment ***

Budgeting is an important management tool and we look at practical methods to ensure reasonable budgets. We look at different cash management principles and how to design strategies to optimise cash.

From the date of registering for this course: 1: Presentation of theory relating to the competency at hand – including demonstration of related techniques and principles via examples and case studies 2: Bite-size modules, to be completed at own pace 3: Online assessments, video, audio, training material included 4: Post-course integrated assignment (prepared on Excel and submitted electronically within 6 weeks after attending the training) *** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For planning simulations throughout the year *** 1) When you book for a simulation, then you have 6 weeks from the date of access (purchase date) to the course, to complete the course and upload your PoE file onto MySkillsPortal. 2) After the first 6 weeks have passed, the Assessor has 6 further weeks to assess, moderate and complete the assessment report with feedback to yourself and your training officer.
