In this 3-hour session, some of the softer and more intangible aspects of corporate life will be addressed by accredited Tall Trees Facilitators, whom will also include experienced Chartered Accountants. A variety of labels and terms have been used to describe personality, temperament, leadership styles and other aspects of human uniqueness. Many people are wary of any kind of label, however it is impossible to talk about people without using labels. Father, employer, woman, cousin, teacher... all of these are helpful labels. The Tree Type Profiles aim to make these inevitable labels positive and reflective of the diversity and beauty of every individual. Trees speak of potential growth, seasonal changes and variety. No two rose bushes are the same, in fact, there are many thousands of rose hybrids and cultivars. The same is true of palms that vary from tiny indoor varieties to the stately and tall palms that line the beaches of Florida. The same goes for pines and standard or Boxwood trees.

The reference to Tall Trees stems from the idiom that tall trees catch the most wind. Tall Trees equips each teenager and adult to become a tall tree that will remain standing even during the worst wind storm. Tall Trees is built on the following beliefs: • Everybody has been created as a unique individual according to an intelligent design • Every person’s design is tied to a life purpose and life plan • Relationships (with God and people) are everybody’s most important growth challenge • The realisation of each individual’s potential starts with self-knowledge and understanding of others • Everybody can be a leader by using their gifts in the right area, at the right time and in the right way • Each individual’s unique combinations of temperaments supply us with a rich variety of information for personal growth • Respect for every individual’s uniqueness and the acceptance of differences can bridge any gulf between people and cultures
