Calling all SAICA training offices with their intake of new trainees.
SAICA training contracts are both an exciting opportunity for new recruits who are seeking to gain CA / AGA accreditation, as well as, a MAJOR stress point if trainees are not well-informed as to their rights and responsibilities under the training contract / regulations.
The SAICA Trainee Induction course consists of three sessions, and the objective is to journey with trainees through the new CA of the Future (formerly CA2025) Competency Framework and Assessment Process, as they look to establish themselves in a new professional work environment.
Session 1 - Introduction to Profession and SAICA Training Regulations
The objective of this session is to introduce the accounting profession to trainees and navigate trainees through the latest SAICA Training Regulations and highlight the important sections applicable to them that could have an impact on their training contract journey. This session tackles what the duties of a trainee are in relation to their training contract.
Furthermore, as part of introducing trainees to the profession, this session covers the regulatory bodies such as SAICA and IRBA, and what the differences are between the two, and what is needed to qualify as a CA / AGA (SA).

Session 2 - Professional Conduct & SAICA Disciplinary Process
Being employed in a professional environment means that you need to be able to act professionally in how you communicate and interact with others, including peers, clients and more senior staff.
This session aims to explain how to conduct yourself, as a new professional, in a corporate environment as well as looking at the SAICA Code of Professional Conduct fundamental principles.
We will also look at the various ways trainees contravened the Code, Training Regulations, By-Laws and their training contract, and how SAICA had disciplined them.

Session 3 - Assessment Process and Tutorial on How to Complete Assessment Instruments [LOR and PDS]
Help trainees understand what the SAICA Assessment Process is all about, how to gather and document evidence, how they are reviewed / evaluated / assessed, and what their role is, in the process of assessment.
