A successful compilation of a set of financial statements hinges on the following:

  • Understanding the financial reporting framework requirements, e.g., IFRS for SMEs
  • Knowing what supporting documents and schedules to request from a client
  • Being comfortable with the compilation software utilised

Our goal is to help you navigate CaseWare’s financial statements drafting software, with an emphasis on the financial statements document and tailoring it to your client’s needs.


The session will focus primarily on the 01.10 Financial Statements document, helping delegates edit a set of financial statements using the following features:

  • Formatting options for text
  • Editing of accounting policies and notes, switching them on / off and changing the order / relocating or sorting notes
  • Adding new notes
  • Adding tables, row lines, text and values in a note, linking values to lead sheets in such notes
  • Making sections / paragraphs / rows visible or invisible within a note
  • Indenting paragraphs
  • Moving pages / switching sections on or off
  • Resolving balance check issues
  • Discussion of design mode
