The purpose of the course is to enable delegates to apply and extend this embedded knowledge to successfully demonstrate acceptable performance in all the competencies as defined below. The performance tasks will require the delegates to create or take an action related to a problem surrounding internal controls. An electronic summative evaluation is conducted upon the conclusion of the course in a highly controlled environment. The required skills will be practiced and evaluated by means of practical examples, scenario analysis and post-course evaluation. The following competencies will be assessed: For trainees as part of the SAICA CA Training Programme RM(R) 2.1 Identifies the entity’s key business processes, including the procurement processes, and identifies general and application controls, both manual and IT, within these business processes RM(R) 3.1 Evaluates the design adequacy of internal control, including application and general controls within the IT environment in the context of the criteria / recognised framework For trainees as part of the SAIPA Logbook Training Programme: RMO 1A Evaluating systems of internal control in achieving the control objectives *** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For planning simulations throughout the year *** 1) When you book for a simulation, then you have 6 weeks from the date of access to the course (purchase date), to complete the course and upload your PoE file onto MySkillsPortal. 2) After the first 6 weeks have passed, the Assessor has 6 further weeks to assess, moderate and complete the assessment report with feedback to yourself and your training officer. 3) For all simulations booked up to and including end October, we will provide feedback on those assessments latest mid December (it might vary depending on when you booked) - that is, if you apply the 6 week submission and 6 week assessment rule [all the rules have been clearly communicated within your course content] 4) For all simulations booked after end October, these assessments will only be made available up to and by February the next year. 5) We can unfortunately not take responsibility for simulations booked very late into the contractual period as the training plan and the way simulations, learning and development are planned, remains the ultimate responsibility of the Training Officer together with the trainee. It would be unfair to cast the later-than-planned (urgent) simulations as a responsibility onto ProBeta Training - especially during the November / December / January period when most training contracts need to be signed off. 6) Urgent PoE assessments: For those trainees who's contracts are due for sign-off between November and December, we do allow a LIMITED NUMBER of fast-track assessments. As communicated per your course instructions, this will however come at an additional fee of R300.00 excl VAT per assessment, to cover administration related time and attendance, urgent and unplanned availability and time and attendance of assessors. We will as far as humanly possible try and accommodate these requests. Please also note that when you submit your PoE file, a level 4 sign-off or 'competent' sign-off is NOT GUARANTEED. We follow the SAICA and SAIPA assessment criteria very strictly to ensure full compliance on our side and also on the Training Office's side. If you have any questions / concerns, please discuss with your Training Officer and contact me to discuss further: lberger@probetatraining.co.za *** All of the above has been clearly communicated on course enrolment ***

In order to effectively manage a business, the management requires proper internal controls. In this course we look at the process required to identify and evaluate key internal controls within an entity. *** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For planning simulations throughout the year *** 1) When you book for a simulation, then you have 6 weeks from the purchase date of the course, to complete the course and upload your PoE file onto MySkillsPortal. 2) After the first 6 weeks have passed, the Assessor has 6 weeks to assess, moderate and complete the assessment report with feedback to yourself and your training officer.
