This intervention is designed to enhance hope in individuals by focusing on goal setting, identifying pathways to achieve those goals, and increasing agency or the belief in one's ability to achieve goals.

Work-Along Format
This format is designed to bridge the gap between learning and application, ensuring that the concepts we discuss are immediately put into practice. During the session, I will serve as your dedicated guide, facilitator, and coach, walking you through each step of the process.

How the Work-Along Format Works

  • Real-Time

Application: As we explore key concepts, you’ll have the opportunity to work on relevant tasks or exercises in real time.

This hands-on approach will allow you to directly apply the material, gaining practical experience that reinforces your understanding.

  • Guided Support: Throughout the session, I’ll be there to support you, offering insights, answering questions, and providing feedback as you work. This ensures that you’re not only learning the material but also developing the skills needed to implement it confidently.
  • Collaborative Environment: You'll be working alongside fellow participants, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.

This collaborative environment will encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices, enhancing your overall experience.

The intervention is effective because it provides concrete tools and strategies that individuals can use to foster hope in their lives.

Furthermore, it is based on scientific research within the field of positive psychology.

Psychology of hope

  • Completing a 'goal mapping exercise'Participants complete a worksheet addressing the components of hope.
  • This exercise helps enhance cognitive flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Hope visualisationParticipants reflect on their sense of agency or belief in their ability to achieve the goal.
